Recycling is a fundamental aspect of every creative process. The sound of Las Hermanas is based on the sampling of old records and tapes that nobody listens anymore, creating a new shapeable base material, as the material of a sculpture. After being sampled and re-sampled, the original properties disappear in order to make room for these new di erent shapes, like the copy of a copy. We also add to the recipe some good beats. That’s what gives that special spice. Finally, we dip it all with a wonderful touch of dub. That’s what we call the original exquisit recipe of Las Hermanas.
Las Hermanas was born in 2014, in Bogota (Colombia). Inspired by the beats, Diego Cuéllar reconstructs di erent love stories, he explores this feeling trough electronic experimentations.
His rst EP’s, EP I and II (2014), were well received by music critics. He also produced Nadie Jamás ha Visto una Calavera Triste in 2016 and No Amanece in 2017.
Las Hermanas shared the stage with artists like Bomba Estéreo, Nicola Cruz, Systema Solar and Crystal Castles. Among other things, he played at the SONAR (Barcelona 2016 and Bogota 2015), at the NRMAL (Mexico 2017) at the CENTRO festival (Colombia 2016), at the HERMOSO RUIDO festival (Colombia 2015), at CULTURA LIBRE festival (Peru 2016) and the I LOVE TRANSMEDIA festival (France 2017).
