Tshepo Mokoena Aka Andy’A is a hip hop sensation from small township Ratanda in Gauteng. Andy started writing from as early age 11, mostly poetry. He says in his own words that his “poetry eventually took the form of rap” and later went to form part of a two-man rap crew “Leadless Pencil”. Andy decided to go solo in 2014 when he dropped “Pieces Of A Puzzle” his first mixtape, which was very positively received, reaching over 1000 downloads in the first two days of release and winning two awards at the South African Upcoming Musicians Awards (SAUMAs).
In 2015 he dropped “The Hard Copy” which was an extension of his first project. Since then Andy’As music has been played on stations like Touch Central, Ligwalagwala FM, UJ FM, NWU-FM, VenRap Radio to name a few. Andy has also been featured on Hype Magazines new comers delight. He’s battled on Metro FMs Rap Activity Jam four times and won all four times, he’s also appeared twice on E-TVs’ ShizNiz. Andy is currently working on his second official project called “Falling Apart” and calls it an “extraordinary body of work”. The whole project will be available later this year but the first single called Blahzay is dropped on 31st March
