@RowanCG3 RO making noise in the UK

63

Socially conscious Poet/Rapper @RowanCG3 fed up with false narratives spread through the once respected medium of mainstream music, about the material wealth of life and objectification of both men and women and degradation of our youth, he decided to make the trip from Jozi to London a pilgrimage to change the face of SA music.

@RowanCG3 moved to England in 2011 to work in the medical industry following the family foot steps, he later realised that music was the only thing that actually made him happy and provide motivation for moving forward, so he worked a number of odd jobs and tried his best with the blessing of a very supportive family,

Oxford was where the new base would be made and the creation of “Social Anxiety” his first independent CD was recorded and sold on the high street to passerbyers in 2013. A couple years after that he applied to Edinburgh Fringe festival(biggest arts festival in the world) as a busker but his guitarist pulled out 6 weeks before so he bought a guitar and amp from his then boss, learned how to play it and have never looked back.

Since then RO has enjoyed the success of his acoustic EP “where is my mind” even getting some radio play on several smaller stations but also on the highly regarded BBC introducing. Whilst recording his next project which will take samples of each of the South African languages he is busy promoting his first book of poetry and performing in all the major poetry slams around London, living the dream. Keep an eye out for his new video for one of his older songs “Ashes” .
