Mpho Nelson Tsotetsi was born on the 9th of January 1994 at the Natalspruit hospital in Katlehong on the east side of Johannesburg.
The music bug bit the young lad at the tender age of 4years when he first heard Msawawa’s Bowungaganani hit single and he decided then and there that he wants to be a music artist.
Around the very same age he took piano lessons at the legendary Babsy Mlangeni’s home who was his next door neighbour back then but he didn’t learn the piano well enough to master it and decided to focus on writing lyrics with a childhood best friend whom is still with him doing music 19years later.
Mpho had a lot of stage names to choose from pertaining to his persona and life experiences but opted for the name 27 Flowz. The number 27 symbolizing the years Nelson Mandela and crew spent on Robben Island prison and “Flowz” because he doesn’t have a specific flow he relies on.
