Sandiso Mbulelo, better known as SeYda by his followers, is a hip hop artiste hailing from Delft, a suburb outside Cape Town. In the past few years, SeYda has been harnessing his growth, following the 2012 debut release of his 10 tracks mixtape titled ‘Godly SeYda’. 2016 sees SeYda unleash the banging single ‘Spike Lee’ on a P2daOh production. The song is filled with fun rhymes portraying how his life has turned into a movie experience thus he can no longer roll with basic girls that won’t stand a chance in complementing his hustle and lifestyle. The trap production adds groove to it and surely guarantees the song to be a club banger.
In a quest to find his own path as an emcee and remain distinct amongst the rest, SeYda took a course that led him to joining an online magazine (CPT Street Mag) from Cape Town, which gave him access to interview other musicians across all music genres. With those discerning experiences SeYda was able to carve his own vocation in the music scene, making a guest appearance on one of the biggest youth tv shows Hectic Nine 9 on SABC 2, being named Artiste Of The Week on YoMzansi Mag and performing on some of Cape Town’s biggest stages including Greenpop’s SA Reforest Festival, Nomadic Orchestra’s Move Your Things Album Launch amongst many.
Having been on daily spins on radio stations nationwide, SeYda trusts Spike Lee will perform much better than his previous singles. “I’ve never been ready to show up and tell my story to bigger audiences across South Africa. Cape Town is diverse, and that has taught me to survive in different crowds” reckons SeYda.
