“Born in the coastal city of East London in Eastern Cape, but bred and raised in the rough and tumble of Ekhuruleni, 22 year old Madodazile Xaso (The Boi Thirtyfirst) represents a new generation of musicians from the East Rand that are making their mark on South African hip hop.
Inspired by his late mother, who was a painter & sculptor, Thirty has followed her artistic footsteps and been making music since his early teens, even winning his high school’s talent show twice. Thirty continues to refine his craft as an artist, skills as a wordsmith and play his part in advancing the SA hip hop culture.
His stated ambition is to not only be a rap artist, but a music mogul with his own empire. Stylistically, he shares the same flair as one of his music idols, Casper Nyovest and business instincts gained while completing his business degree at the University of Johannesburg.
Thirty is currently working on his debut mixtape, which features fresh new talent as well as a special guest appearance from Stilo Magolide. His first single from the mixtape is ‘Fresh Off The Jet’ aka #FOJT.”
